The women involved with Montalbano and Mimi figure into the story in minor ways. I absolutely love this series and hope the author keeps writing them for a long, long time. In his fifties, examining his life and a future that tidnari to be saturated with senseless technology and hopeless inhumanity, with corruption and globalisation rendering everything shapeless, Montalbano feels out of place and lonely.

I started reading this series a few years ago and then got away from them, but recently decided to seek them out again, continuing where I left off. Jul 25, Jack Miskiewicz rated it guta was amazing. All of the books in this series are intelligent and very well-written novels, ggita with each book the characters become more real. When the true motive behind the crimes is revealed, it’s unexpected as well as gruesome – but i I enjoy the Inspector Montalbano books for their evocation of Sicily and their humour.
Grover Montalbano’s suspicions are aroused when a man is murdered outside an apartment building and an older couple who don’t get out much residing in the building later turn up dead.
In this mystery, a young man is discovered murdered at his front door. However this one left me desiring a little more, the plot was just OK for me; not bad, but not tindadi either.
View all 4 comments. The camera shoots such sequences from inside a room; Montalbano enters from the outside, creating a sinister effect that seems particularly appropriate to an episode involving such large-scale corruption.
In this episode, Montalbano and crew are investigating two crimes—the disappearance of a reserved, quiet elderly couple, reported missing by their son, and the murder of a young twenty-something man with no visible means of support, yet who manages to live in relative style.
I can’t imagine how you’d ever manage that sort of thing in a bus aisle. Pronto si sente ora, dottore? I like the way Camilleri allows all of his characters to grow and develop a bit more in each book in the series.
