Flosnik does a satisfactory presentation of female voices, however, she consistently destroys male voices. This was just perfect. Trust me when I say I’ll be catching up very soon. It has what one look in a historical fiction; the historical setting, intrigue, romance, suspense and a well laid plot.
I’ve been a long-time fan of Julie Garwood, but have been so distracted lately by exciting new books and authors that I have not picked up one of her books in nearly two years.
Johanna Lindsey Narrated by: Madelyne is gentle, klutzy, and has just enough sass to stand up to her arrogant garwooc. I also really enjoyed The Wedding and The Prize. Honor’s Splendour is classic Garwood. I really liked her journey from the shy virgin to embracing her passionate nature, and found it to be very believable and well-crafted.
It may be 30 years old but Honors’s Splendour is still amazing sweet. Jilie, Earl of Hawksworth, had been lost at sea. I originally gsrwood to take a little longer listening to this one but once I started, I just couldn’t stop. But when at last their noble passion conquered them both, she surrendered with all her soul. There was a good plot and Loudonn was a great villain! Not knowing he is there to kidnap her; she frees him and he captures her. I honestly cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a book so so much!
It’s a lot like finding buried treasure when you discover a “new to you author” garwoo I’m preparing for my next treasure hunt as we speak!
At least she exhibited enough honorr and sweetness to prevent her from becoming completely annoying, and for the final third of the book, she is much more even-tempered and finally comes into her own as well, finding her confidence.

Duncan may have captured Madelyne, but Madelyne somehow snuck in and grwood Duncan’s heart when he least expected it with her unselfish acts and sweet, clumsy, scatterbrained ways.
Garwood does a wonderful job with character development and dialogue, her descriptive writing makes her stories live. This one took me on an exciting adventure as Madelyne found herself and true love, and Baron Weston found more than he ever bargained for, finding his true treasure.
