Apr 15, Kelly rated it did not like it Shelves: I almost don’t know where to start with this review. First off, I didn’t care for this book. Here’s the thing, I like almost all the different elements that made up this book. I like books with werewolves. I like books with menages. I like books with werewolf menages. I like books with BDSM elements. Frankly, putting all those things together should have been a cornucopia of delights for me.
This book was hard to read. The characters were all over I almost don’t know where to start with this review.
Guest Review: Running in Fear: Escaped by Trinity Blacio
The characters were all over the place. The action didn’t feel fully fleshed out. Even the sex scenes of which there were many! Most of that was because of the Jaycee.
I get that it’s a lifestyle choice but Someone who had nearly died is now a-okay with having someone flog her?
Someone who was gang raped as a teen and has spent the past 15 years running away and hiding the truth is okay with having a group of men watch her and her mate having sex? I just didn’t believe it. Beyond that, Jaycee proudly admits that she’s a “trained submissive” yet she’s also expected escaper be the Alpha female of Dane’s pack. I just can’t wrap my head around that. I also personally loathe the term “Alpha Bitch” which is used repeatedly.
I had a very difficult time telling the secondary characters apart. Blacuo thought the dramatic showdown between Jaycee and her mother and stepfather was a big dud. Escapde have no idea bkacio the book was stopped practically in the middle of a scene. Escaled feel like I’m bitching at this point and I don’t want to do that so I’m going to leave you on this note: If I can’t follow the action or the thought processes of the characters, I’m not going to be able to get into the story.
And that was the problem here. I never felt any connection to the characters of which I think there were a few too many and I ended up not particularly caring what happened to them. This one wasn’t for me. On so many levels.

Jaycee underestimates Dane and his brothers, thrown into the mix is alpha brother Mark who with one moment is a partner in bed, the next her second bpacio.
What unfolds is a powerful alpha bitch, Jaycee, who is not your ordinary mate, and another surprise is about to shock her to her core as a third mate reveals himself. As if bieng hunted is bad enough, how is she going to handle three mates? I gave escape a 3. I had a couple issues in the beginning with the domineering attitude and lack of sensitivity for Jaycee and what she had been through, but midway through that changed.
This is a pretty raw, rough, and explicit read but it hsa that extra something that compels you to not put it down. The only thing I will say about the ending is it is abrupt, so if you want to find out what happens next have to get the next one. It was the blurb that made me gy up the book, the idea of the story had merits. Why else would I have bought it?! I was sorely disappointed though when the book didn’t turn out to be what I had anticipated.
I didn’t think the book was badly written, as in proper grammar and the like, but the pacing was all off for me. Things happened way too fast.
Understandably it’s was a paranormal romance so suspension of disbelief is expected, but this went into the ridiculous. I felt the author was trying to put bllacio many elements into the book both story wise and sexually bj it just became a Smorgasbord of stuff. Jaycee the MC, who is on the run from a horribly abusive relationship, and the next thing I know she jumping into bed with not just one man but three Then she instantly in love The intimacy between the MC felt forced and formulaic.
For someone who just left an abusive relationship she was very accepting of some hardcore sexual elements in her relationship ie fisting, spanking, surprise additional blaclo – escapd on rape, exhibitionism that didn’t jive with what I would expect of a sexually abused person.
I did try to give the story a chance, but i don’t think I will escapev and subsequent stories from this series. Aug 21, Janna rated it it was ok Shelves: When I started reading this book it had been on my to-be-reviewed-shelf for a while and I initially forgot to look up the backblurb and just jumped in, since it was time that I finally got to it.
In the first paragraph we meet Dane, alpha leader of his pack, who is worrying about his mate, or to be more precise, the woman he’s going to claim as his mate, Jaycee.

Shortly after, Jaycee is introduced, as a woman who’s severely abused by her ex-husband. And then the hero and bllacio meet each other. They instantly mate and Jaycee’s ‘running in fear’ starts, because her ex-husband is after her.
Dane wants to protect her, but she thinks she can handle it on her own and runs from him. After this opening of the story I started to fear for a heroine b,acio TSTL tendencies and I was wondering about the background of Dane’s pack and their mating that already happened so early in the book.
So, I looked up the backblurb and discovered I was in for a few more mates for Jaycee. Meanwhile quite some sex scenes had taken place, with lots of graphic descriptions but lack of an emotional level. Jaycee also got dressed up to play a role as a submissive to deceive her ex, James, and his friends at some club.
That was the plan.
Escaped (Running In Fear, #1) by Trinity Blacio
Except, this story thread never returned in the rest of the book. And to be honest, it rang false to me that Jaycee was trained as a submissive like she stated, because she acts anything but submissive. And it doesn’t get escapwd.
