D Throughout the book there is a lot of humour as has been seen the others!
If you like not having to worry too much about whether the main character will live to rsoe the end of the book, and the fact that most of the bad guys will probably meet suitably grisely ends, you’ll probably enjoy this.
Well, yay textbook mediaeval warfare! That aspect of the plot was good.

Daviv problem I have with this book is the “romance” between Sparhawk and the queen. The teeny little tentacles! The Sum of All Men. I love the political intrigues of the Hierocracy. And usually its over the attention of a man. Meanwhile, the evil God Azash and his servant, Othahave been massing their forces along the eastern border of Eosia in preparation for an invasion of the west.
By a slightly odd mixture of subtlety and brute force, they gain access to the inner room – but not without the loss of Kurik, Sparhawk’s squire and friend. They reach the city of Zemoch, and find the sapphkre which contains the mud idol to which Azash is confined. The Elenium is Eddings’ third fantasy series. And since their relationship took on a bigger role in this book, I have to thf it a lower rating due to the way it was handled.
Okay, first I want to preface this by saying that the world-building and characters are still both fantastic elements of this trilogy.

There are castles, knights, some limited magic that the author never attempts to explain, and heavy religious overtones. And where his character lacks growth, he provides entertainment, with a mix of action, comic relief, and straight talk with other characters.

The Elenic religion is a thinly-veiled caricature of Catholicism, and I found it shallow and disingenuous.

Can we serve you in any way? It was, to be sure, quite petty, but Sparhawk was like that sometimes. One could argue that since the characters are largely in the same profession Church Knightsthey may all have a similar sense of humor.
The sense of being watched sappire gone, and the street was no longer a place of danger. There are good and bad guys, and some people that are supposed to be “bad guys”, but they just had rough lives and are really good at heart. I find dose is well written, definitely better than Harry Potter Luckily the young goddess and her magic hotel are on hand to cheer every one up.

I’m very, very sorry this series had to end. Halfway through we savid rudely interrupted by some industrial metal because Martel and his army of nutters have arrived. It really is a warm comfy blanket… with moth holes and a few scratchy bits… but a lot of love and memories holding it together.
I mean, he watched her grow up, tutored her and was her knight and champion, a role he inherited from his father. What I adore is Eddings’ complete, unassailable, and believable world that he creates. The woman is a queen, and fully in command of herself and the power she wields, yet tge resorts to that for no reason, anyway! Cliched, but it’s precisely what made it so accessible to someone like me, who’s just dipping her toes in the fantasy genre; as an introductory series, I enjoyed it all in all.
