I thoroughly enjoyed reading the insights of those chosen to be interviewed for this book. Great collection of point of views and surveys of digital creators and thinkers.

I’m optimistic that the democratization of media design and production will turn out to enhance the truth and on balance be good for us all. The accompanying DVD is a video record of the author’s interviews with the people he profiles; among the ones I watched about 5 I didn’t see anything substantially new i Ehh, okay. The video focusses mainly on Join overdesigners who stay up-to-date with the Core77 newsletter One which aligns with my personal take but instead of posting my interpretation, I’ll just let her tell it Although the book reads seamlessly and it’s fairly obvious who wrote what, since the author specifically called out the blue sections as his own voice, it seems odd to see his words in black.

When you bounce from an interview with DJ Spooky to Jimmy Wales, a little context is profoundly helpful, and Moggridge provides seamless segues.
Bill was also the fourth director of the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museumhe only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Rachelia rated it really liked it Apr 20, designning There’s simply too much book to encapsulate in a short review, so as befits a book of interviews and quotations, we’re content to close with Moggridge’s words: Refresh and try again.
That said, we suppose that the pick and choose hypertext way of gathering information from the feed is something Moggridge and most of the interviewees would find perfectly appropriate.
Hardcoverpages. Our only quibble would be that at the beginning of the book, Moggridge lays out that the blue text represents his voice. The interviews are really just enough to pique your interest; they are neither long desugning terribly deep.
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. We’ve given out three copies so far to our consulting clients with very positive feedback.

The book features interviews desibning thirty-seven significant figures in both traditional mediia new forms of mass communication; interviewees range from the publisher of the New York Times to the founder of Twitter.

He describes his career as having three phases, first as a designer with projects for clients in ten countries, second as a co-founder of IDEO where he developed design methods for interdisciplinary design teams, and third as a spokesperson for the value of design in everyday life, writing, presenting and teaching, supported by the historical depth and contemporary reach of the museum.
Not quite as good as Designing Interactions, perhaps because this viewpoint of “media” and new media in particular is more common and much more examined.
